Health Issues in the Middle-Income Countries

Select a health issue in a low or middle income country that is not discussed in the case studies in the textbook. Discuss the following in relation to the health issue that impacts a vulnerable group, like children, elderly, women, or other population you learned about in this module.

Your post should discuss the following:

  1. The cultural and environmental factors that contribute to the health issue.
  2. Describe the relative burden of this health problem for the vulnerable population, including its:
    1. Prevalence
    2. Cost
    3. Impact on Society
  3. Discuss how the problem can be addressed and any cultural or environmental factors, which produce barriers to prevention or treatment.

Remember to provide specific examples and to structure an argument starting with an introduction with a clearly defined thesis and a strong conclusion. Strong posts will include data to illustrate prevalence and impact on society.
