Read Chapter 36 of your Doweiko textbook and in discussion address the following:

• Discuss why infectious disease is such a common problem for alcohol and drug users.
• Discuss how to help further protect those substance users who may already have an infectious disease and how to protect yourself as the counselor from these diseases.
• Discuss what a Christian worldview response would be to working with persons in treatment who may be suffering from these types of infections.
• Explore in this discussion what Christ-like compassion may look like in responding to those who have the four most common infectious diseases encountered among this population (Pneumonias, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome [AIDS], Tuberculosis, and Viral Hepatitis).
