Explain the relationship between the Goldman equation, the resting potential and the action potential. Hint: looking at the main parts of the simplified Goldman equation is a good beginning.

Some of what i wrote: In living cells, the resting membrane potential is regulated by several ions. In many cells, K+, Na+ or Cl- are usually the main contributors to membrane potential. These ions can move through selective channels in the plasma membrane. The membrane potential can be calculated using the Goldman equation. The Goldman equation uses both the relative contribution of a given ion as well as its relative membrane permeability.
