You work for a CSR Consultancy. Assume the type of business you will be advising as a
CSR Expert: industry (automotive industry), specialisation (Vehicle Manufacturers), focus
(clean cars).
Introduction
Explain the purpose of the report as a CSR expert. Imagine that a company asked
you to look into ethical issues as a CSR adviser. You undertook desk top research
to understand better the ethical issues in theory and in practice. Your report will
be send to relevant managers to understand the ethical issue and take appropriate
action across all the business departments
Explain why the ethical issue that you have chosen is important for this specific
industry
Refer to a key example (provide references at all times) to make clear to all what
the ethical issue is about, its dimensions and implications
Explain the focus of your ethical issue (in the case of discrimination the relations
between employees and business can take place when a potential employee tries
to enter a business or it can take place when an employee is trying to get a
promotion)
Provide a conclusion at the end of your introduction

Define the ethical issue within the theoretical literature (provide appropriate
references) and provide an example of the same ethical issue that occurred in a
similar business using references (requirement 1)
Identify the affected parties (stakeholders) for your client by providing a brief
description of why and how the key stakeholder group(s) are affected and how
making reference to consequences and their responsibilities (requirement 2)
Think creatively for how a business should act to prevent such ethical issue from
occurring by developing appropriate CSR programmes (e.g. refer to how a code
of ethics should address discrimination). Develop your own ideas or generate
ideas based on your reading of academic papers (requirement 3)
Conclusion
Sum up the above points by providing recommendations on how the company that
you are advising should develop practices to prevent this ethical issue.
