Human Health and the Environment

Gather information from the EPA website (www.epa.gov) about the United States of America Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This is the federal agency responsible for the protection of human health and the environment in the United States.

In your response please address the following:

  • Explain the mission statement of the EPA in your own words.
  • Provide at least three examples about how the EPA works to ensure the protection of human health and the environment in the US.
  • Explain how the EPA accomplishes its mission through developing and enforcing regulations.
  • Use either the Clean Air Act or the Clean Water Act to explain the difference between a law and a regulation.
