Incident Reporting

Healthcare facilities have a process called Incident Reporting. This is a form that Human Resources requires to be completed when an accident or injury takes place and they can track the effects of the injury or accident. If the injury results in lost time from work and will be covered from Workers Compensation, documentation is needed.

  • What would you do if you discover that an employee has been missing work due to an injury they got at work but never reported it?
  • What would you say to the employee and what would you say to Human Resources?
  • Is it the employee’s fault for not reporting this injury or is it your fault for not informing the employee of the seriousness of not reporting.
