- Read Chapter 7 of your textbook by Corey, Theory and Practice of Counseling and Psychotherapy.
- Pay particular attention to the “three therapist attributes” on pages 178-179 and their expansion on pages 179-184.
- Write a 2-3 page paper assessing these characteristics using several examples as to how you could use them effectively in a counseling session.
- To achieve maximum points for content and analysis, the following elements need to be thoroughly addressed:
- Discuss the three therapist attributes.
- Analyze the three attributes by providing examples of how they can be used in a counseling session
- Ensure that you have cited and referenced at least two scholarly sources.

- Watch the Person-Centered Therapy Session on the DVD entitled Theory in Practice: The Case of Stan.
- Write a 1-page response identifying at least three person-centered techniques and perspectives and sharing how the therapist uses the person-centered approach with Stan, particularly focusing on Stan’s attempt to get feedback regarding whether he should share with his former wife about his sessions.
- APA formatting is only required for citing sources and references.
