Kindness is one of the noble acts known by so many people. However, it is not practiced as much as talked about. It can melt a person’s heart and make them see the world from a different perspective even though the world is uncaring has been highly popularized in recent years. However, in as much as that is true to a certain extent, it cannot be explicitly stated that the world is the wrong place. As most of the times known as kindness, humanity makes up for the bad, and I can attest to have come across that kind of kindness which, even though unexpected, was much needed. Most of the time, we meet those people we call within our hearts the good Samaritans, if a Christian or guardian angels that just come and help without the wish to be known and leave almost immediately after a person has got what they needed. This essay expounds on my experience of kindness and how I try to live up to my “guardian angel” even up to today.

Having grown up in a loving family and tried to understand what it means to help a person, I had not got any experience of assisting a person. However, I realized that some things have to be experienced at times of great need for one to know what it means for a person to need help. When we experience some instances in our lives when we are most in the market, we realize how much some people need help. And not just by stating that kindness is good and essential but rather by getting into it and practicing it daily to bring meaning to our lives.

There was this day I was supposed to take some medicines to my grandmother. The distance between the home where my parents and I stayed by then was like 10 miles from my grandmother’s place. However, I was the only one who took the medications that my parents had bought for our grandma to her since both of my parents had gone to work, and it was during the holiday, and I was at home. Therefore, I took my bag and thought that I had packed everything perfectly. I headed for the bus station to take medicine to my grandma before it was too late. Arriving at the bus station, I realized that it had just left and I had to wait for the next bus to come.

I waited patiently, knowing that the bus had to go fast enough to reach my grandma’s place soonest possible since she had taken the morning dose of the medicine and had to take another amount during lunchtime, which I was carrying. When the bus arrived, I got in and sat. Other passengers got it, and we began our journey. However, I did not check if I had money or my visa card for the fare. When it was time to descend, I checked my bag and searched the whole of it, and I really could not understand how I did not have any money or any other form of payment. I was so desperate, and I did not know what I needed to tell the conductor for her to believe me.

As I sat there silently, not knowing what I needed to do with a thousand thoughts in my mind, a person who sat behind me saw how I was confused and came to my rescue. He paid the fare for me, and he gave me 10 dollars. I was so shocked by that kind of kindness because I did not expect it, and I tried to get all things into one I could, and it was not possible. This person whom I never knew his name came to helped me so much. Therefore kindness shown to me was an essential part of the journey since my grandmother depended on the medicine I was carrying, and I did not have a way to get the treatment to her without me going there. I had also missed her, and I wanted to see her. Therefore this unknown person was my guardian angel, and I always try to do the right thing especially offer kindness to those who need it.
