Format of Literature Review Paper

TITLE

ABSTRACT

  • 200 words, no references.
  • Not a location for literature review, but summation of your paper.

INTRODUCTION

  • Probably ~2 pages. Location of general background material.
  • Ultimately leads to a statement of the question

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

  • This the extensive literature review where you present information obtained from various published sources.
  • Normally should use a number of headings and subheadings to emphasize the logical organization to the paper.
  • Each section should flow into the next. Use transition sentences to tie together different topics.
  • Do not include your results here if your study has already begun. Do include results from completed studies.
  • End with a description of the specific question/hypothesis in which you are interested (in more detail than in introduction).

EXPERIMENTAL PROPOSAL

  • Describe the rationale for the actual experiments proposed.
  • Explicitly state the hypothesis.
  • Providedetails of experimental design. You do not need to provide details of each step of protocol. Instead, provide details of types of data collected. Identify the various independent and dependent variables, type of experiment, treatments, etc…. Include a discussion of statistical tests to be used.
  • Explain the types of analysis. Most will use a factorial design: what are the factors?
  • Makepredictions of your results and how they will relate to your hypothesis. Do not “state” what your results will be. State how outco

REFERENCES

  • Use citations in text (Name-Year or Number system – see your textbook). Do not list title of articles and author’s full names and the places of employment.
  • Two formats are common:
Smith and Jones (1967) showed that frogs like latex beads. And Frogs hop further when dunked in acid (Vatnick et al., 1995).

TABLES and FIGURES

  • Each must have legend and number.
  • Renumber all material taken from other sources. Do no use figure legends directly
  • Don’t be afraid of making your own figures.
  • Easiest to provide all tables in order and all figures in order at end of paper.

from source material, but write a legend in your own words and provide a citation at

the end of the legend.

Avoid: First person (passive voice preferred) and contractions. One concept per paragraph. Identify Sections of the Paper clearly.

Shifts in Our Health Care System

Our health care system changes frequently. In this assignment you will review our current health care system and how it has evolved in the past three to five years. This will give you the necessary background knowledge to complete this assignment and other assignments in this course.

Research different events or shifts in our health care system within the past three to five years.

Select a current event or shift in the health care system from your research that has occurred within the past three to five years. This resource could be from a newspaper, magazine, or journal from the University Library or similar source.

Write a 350- to 700-word reflection that details the changing landscape of our health care system based on your research and selected current event or shift.

  • Explain the current event or shift you selected.
  • Describe the impact of this current event or shift on the health care system on health care consumers.
    • Remember, you, your friends, and family are health care consumers.
    • As you think about the impact to consumers, consider the impact experienced when there was a shift from acute care to wellness and prevention and the shift in accountability.
  • Explain your personal perception of the current event or shift you have selected.
    • Remember, it is not appropriate to share personal medical information and background.

Cite 1 peer-reviewed, scholarly, or similar reference.

Include Title and Reference Pages on all assignments.

Astronomy Questions

Please make a document with both the questions and answers. 🙂

  1. How is the Moon dependent on the Sun?
  2. How are seasons created?
  3. How does the Moon contribute to Earth’s tides?
  4. How are lunar and solar eclipses created?
  5. How do the Sun, Earth, and Moon depend on each other?

Critical Thinking Questions

  1. What makes gravity a vital factor within our universe? How does it influence the universe?
  2. How are the Sun and Moon different? Compare and contrast these celestial bodies.
  3. What would you say is the strongest force in our universe: the Sun, the Moon, or Earth? Support your answer with at least two facts.
  4. If you were an astronaut on the Moon, what would you experience? What would you see from your perspective?
  5. Which one of the theories about the Moon’s creation do you most agree with? Why?

Nutrition

  1. Describe some of the diet and health connections between a child and a senior citizen? Provide examples. AT LEAST 2 PARAGRAPHS AND 1 REFERENCE SOURCE. APA FORMAT
  2. Case study: Sarah is 28 years old and 7 months pregnant with her third child. Her other children are 2-1⁄2 and 1-1⁄2 years old. She had uncomplicated pregnancies and deliveries. Sarah is 5′ 6″ tall; she weighed 142 pounds at the beginning of this pregnancy, which made her pre-pregnancy BMI 23. She has gained 24 pounds so far. Prior to her first pregnancy, her BMI was 20 (124 pounds). She is unhappy about her weight gain, but the stress of having two young children and being a stay-at-home mom made losing weight impossible. She went online for her MyPlate plan, which recommends she consume 2,400 calories per day. She doesn’t think she eats that much because she seems to have constant heartburn. She takes a prenatal supplement, so she feels confident that even if her intake is not perfect, she is getting all the nutrients she needs through her supplement.

Category A: Does she have any risk factors for a high-risk pregnancy? Explain your answer. Evaluate her pre-pregnancy weight and weight gain thus far. How much total weight should she gain? Explain your answer. Is her attitude about supplements appropriate? What would you tell her about supplements? Explain.

Category B:Based on the 2,400-calorie meal pattern, what foods should Sarah eat more of? What food is she eating more than the recommended amounts? How would you suggest she modify her intake to minimize heartburn? What would you tell her about weight gain during pregnancy? What strategies would you suggest to her after her baby is born that would help her regain her healthy weight? Devise a 1-day menu for her that provides all the food she needs in the recommended amounts and alleviates her heartburn.

ATTACHED SARAH’S DAILY INTAKE. PLEASE DO AT LEAST 3 PARAGRAPHS INCLUDING QUESTIONS FROM BOTH CATEGORIES.

Academy of Healing Arts Massage and Facial Skin Care Combating Moral Distress

Combatting Moral Distress

Moral resilience has been defined as “the capacity of an individual to sustain or restore their integrity in response to moral complexity, confusion, distress, or setbacks” (Rushton, 2016a, p. 112a). Moral resilience is an evolving concept and other definitions have focused on “the ability and willingness to speak and take right and good action in the face of an adversity that is moral/ethical in nature” (Lachman, 2016, p. 122).

I would like to believe that nurses have innate and learned capacities that can be used to combat the negative of forces of moral distress, burnout, compassion fatigue, and incivility that plagues our nursing profession.

As a result of this one course in Ethics, you have been given some tools to develop critical thinking skills, use ethical decision making models to strengthen and clarify your values. I believe all of you will need to be on an intentional journey to use and leverage these skills to keep your nursing practice resilient and meaningful.

How do you see yourself cultivating moral resilience within yourself, with your colleagues and the organizations where you will work? What specific interventions can you envision for yourself as you continue your journey in the socialization of becoming a nurse? What contributions do you intend to create to make meaningful and sustainable change in your role as a nurse?

Geo101 Carbon cycle

View the graph in the website at http://www.antarcticglaciers.org/glaciers-and-climate/ice-cores/ice-core-basics/, the current CO2 concentration at http://keelingcurve.ucsd.edu, and the carbon cycle at http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/CarbonCycle/. Also, read the section on climate change in Chapter 11 of your textbook.

Compare current CO2 levels to the concentrations from the past 450,000 years. Based on these websites and the textbook, answer the following questions:

  • Explain how the carbon cycle works.
  • What is the current CO2 concentration in parts per million (ppm)?
  • How does this compare to the highs or lows over the past 450,000 years?
  • What are the three most abundant sources from which humans add CO2 to the atmosphere?
  • Explain the two main natural carbon sinks that remove CO2 from the atmosphere.
  • Explain in detail two ways deforestation contributes to the increase in CO2 levels.
  • What are some other greenhouse gases, and how do their concentrations compare to the past 450,000 years?
  • Based on the data, are humans contributing to climate change, or is it strictly a natural part of the cycle? Defend your answer. You must weigh all of the data, and use them to formulate your conclusion.

Your paper should meet the following requirements:

  • 3-4 pages in length (does not include title and reference page)
